New business location, new book (or two), and more!

It’s September, summer is officially over, and it’s time for another update because surprise - a lot is going on!

First of all, as you might already know… I bought a trailer! Yes, I’m officially that millennial girl who quit her corporate job, moved across the country, and is opening a Book Truck. Because why the hell not? The trailer is coming along. After coming back from my vacation, I’ve been working on it and hopefully, we’ll have a soft opening next weekend, then another trip, and the grand opening at the beginning of October. Since I’m a 27-year-old small business owner and I can’t afford anything, I decided to do most of the remodeling on my own… I know, what could go wrong?!  If you want to see my remodeling journey, check out the store’s Instagram where I post daily updates!

But opening another bookstore location is not the only thing I’m working on. I went to Norway knowing I’d probably get inspired to write and the trip did not disappoint. As I was standing on top of a mountain all the way in the Arctic Circle, I wrote the last poem for my new poetry book. The release date is still unknown but I’m hoping to publish this book by the end of the year. “no title yet” is coming later this fall (or winter), and yes - “no title yet” is the title!

At the same time, I’m still writing one chapter a week(ish) for my subscription-only page. It’s $5 a month for 4 months - the total of $20 and once I’m done and it’s published, you’ll get the book for a discounted price! In “Life After Death” I share my story of how my entire life has changed since losing my husband, Andrew. People think you lose your person but life keeps going on. And somehow it’s true but what most people don’t get is how entirely different life becomes after losing a partner you thought you’d spend your life with. Each chapter talks about different parts of my life that were affected by Andrew’s death.

Lastly, if you live in Virginia, I hope to see you on Saturday, September 28th at Barnes & Noble in Fairfax for my book signing! If you haven’t gotten one of my previous books yet, now’s the time! Or at least, come and say hi!

I’m so excited for everything that is coming up. Being in Austin is like a breath of fresh air. I feel inspired but most importantly, I have the support of the local community and other business owners that I was missing back in Virginia. I can’t wait to see everyone at the Book Truck or at the author event in Virginia. And who knows where life will take me next year!
